MAY 24 - 31, 2013 CALVARY BAPTIST CHURCH

"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 5:16) NIV

May 24-31, Calvary Baptist Church of Elizabethton, TN made their 2nd mission trip to Belize. God has lead us to the village of Camelote where we minister to the church of Biblical Road. Our theme for this trip was "Shine the Light of Jesus". With this theme, we evangelized with beans, rice, and a solar light. We distributed the solar lights and food to over 30 families. The lights were a huge success. We also was able to visit all children that are sponsored by members of Calvary, (20 and growing). We encouraged all families to grow in Christ and be a Light for Jesus in their village.

Children's Ministry
We also had 2 children's evangelisms on the compound. On the first day (Saturday) we had the village of Camelote, with around 100 children and parents. We had a Bible story which was John the Baptist, music, colorful tee shirt crafts, a clown with face painting, and balloon animals. We fed them bologna and cheese sandwiches, chips, cookies (biscuits) and bananas for lunch. Then we had water games, ending with a water balloon fight. We topped off the day with ice cream cones, balloon animals, and smiling faces. The second day was with the kids of Roaring Creek. Robbie estimated that we would have 30 to 40 kids (haha,) but God blessed us with 130 to 140. It was truly neat to see all the children leaving with smiles. It looks like God is opening many doors for the Youth Center!

Bike Repair Ministry
Elmer Sam's bike repair ministry, nicknamed Emmett's Fix-It Shop, was another huge success, repairing around 60 bikes on the compound for the Roaring Creek and Camelote community. The local bike shops really liked Elmer since he spent around $1,000.00 on bike parts.

Compound Ministry

We were able to assist around the compound with various projects from cleaning, painting, sewing, repairing the picket fence, and even some sanding and pressure washing on the old bus.

Teaching Ministry
Pastor Joe Sorah had the privilege of teaching local pastors and church leaders. He had morning and afternoon sessions, 6 total. Brother Joe worked very hard in preparation of these sessions he also had transcripts of all sessions translated into Spanish.

Construction Ministry
Although we did not have a construction team, Estuardo and Lizette's mother now has a home. Thanks to the generous giving of Calvary Baptist Church and all the hard work of Estuardo, Ralph, some locals, and of course, Lizette (haha there is proof of at least 1 nail).

Other Ministry
In closing, there are so many more items we could talk about, from taking a little boy for an ultrasound, leading worship at Bibical Road, and helping the church by donating money to finish the bathroom facilities. But one last ministry story, our youth Kelsey, Kristin, Caleb, and Bethany preformed 2 songs in blacklight: 1 in English and 1 in Spanish at Bibical Road on our last night in Belize. Wow, they were awesome! What a way to end our week of Shining the Light of Jesus.

Thanks
We want to thank God for allowing us to be a part of this mission in Belize. Also, thanks to Calvary Baptist Church of Elizabethton for their generous giving for the many projects started and completed. Last, but not least, a huge thanks to Dave and Verna, Robbie and Angela, Ralph, and all the Body and Soul staff for their encouragement and support for Calvary. Let your light shine to glorify God!

NOVEMBER 22 - 29, 2012

Ralph N. Digman was the founder of Body & Soul Ministries. Early on October 16, 2017, he saw the face of Jesus and it took his breath away. He is now at the feet of his Father. Ralph touched so many people both in the U.S. and in Belize. He was a mighty servant of our Lord.  Please pray especially for the love of his life, Penny.

If you wish to honor Ralph, Penny has asked that a donation be made in Ralph's memory to Body & Soul Ministries, P.O. Box 2339, Church Hill, TN 37642.
